This class of dragon is by far the most commonly known and famous type of dragon with its distinctive quadrupedal stance with it's two or more large powerful set(s) of wings . These beasts are found mainly in high mountainous areas and are seldom found other regions of the world , the reason they're known as Elder Dragons is because they're the oldest class, and are by far most powerful out of the any of the classes spoken of in the following texts and are respected by almost any and every being across the world over. These dragons although muscular in build have large, light-weight bones to aid for flight there powerful wings can help them fly great distances without rest and are so flexible that can out maneuver almost any creature in the air or on land. These creatures also vary in size with largest dragons being able to topple mountains with a single roar and some small enough to hide under the base of your bed, when it comes to mating season the males gather treasure in order to impress a potential mate but if another male dragon trys to steal their treasure (because like girls love shiney and beautiful objects that impresses them) he will fight to the death if necessary because the amount of treasure collected shows how well the male can provide for the female and if successful at getting the girl, pregnancy last for up to 6-7 months. After pregnancy females will lay a clutch of up to 2-20 eggs;fire breathers will cover the eggs inside stone/rock piles and heat the eggs with their breath and if the eggs get too hot they have the ability to create a gust of wind that can aid the dragon in lowering the temperature of the eggs, while those who don't breath fire migrate to lay their eggs in warmer areas or in warm underground caverns with thermal vents, near magma pools or even near hot Springs. And this class of dragon are known to mate for life.
Wyverns
Wyverns are the second oldest class and have three sub-classes (Bird Wyverns, Psuedo Wyverns and True Wyverns ) these creature are bipedal , intelligent animals and in some cases will mate for life, while for others males will mate and then leave the female to take care of the young. And some of these dragons even have the ability to spit a highly corrosive toxin that can melt the skin of flesh and bone.
1:Bird Wyverns
Bird Wyverns are as their name says,
they're species of Wyvern that has more of a bird-like appearance than most wyverns and unlike the others are extremely docile and get easily spooked and few dragons of this subclass appear as big ,flightless, feathered bird-like dragons(like flying ostriches but with scaley and with long tales) . They're mainly found in rainforest;cliff faces near the shore and sub-tropical regions.Their size varies from medium to small sizes and are sometimes lightly or heavily covered in bright, vibrant feather which when mating season comes can impress even the most reluctant of females. Pregnancy can last any where between 5-8months during that they build nests made of branches and soft downy feathers and lay 2-5 eggs the mother takes care of the the eggs while the male is out hunting for both of them ,once the chicks hatch out both parents take turns for babysitting while the other is hunting for food.and most have been known to mate for life.
2:Psuedo Wyverns
These Wyverns are the most aggressive and powerful of the class . The most recognisable of this sub-class would be the Tigrex;Narcacuga;and Barioth(From the game franchise" Monster Hunter") they have strong, elongated , muscular forelimbs that act as wings ,while they cannot fly for extended periods, but instead glide and and have impressive jumping capabilities they're found in sub-tropical rainforests, temperate rainforests, tundra and mountainous areas.During mating season Males fight for females and present to them largest and most dangerous prey items for them as gifts, as proof of how strong they are, if the female accepts him he'll mate and then leave the female for her to take care of the offspring on her own,but before that can happen she has to endure a grueling 6months of pregnancy becoming hungrier and hungrier as well as becoming more aggressive to anything that goes near them. Females lay a clutch of 6 eggs and build their nest on the ground protecting their young ferociously ,but when the young hatch most babies don't survive for long and normally 3 out of 6 survive due to them being attacked by predators raiding nest because of their grounded lifestyle or the young killing of their weaker siblings.
3: True Wyverns
These dragons are where the other sub-classes originated from , they're more reptilian in appearance and and walk with an bipedal stance , it's neck and torso in an horizontal like form(another example from "Monster Hunter" is the Rathalos and Rathian), and in some cases are highly venomous, with venom so dangerous and toxic that it can melt flesh, which shoot out like projectiles at their enemies. These dragons just like Elder Dragons can grow to impressive size ,case in point "Smaug"( The Hobbit saga, also the reason he's not classified as a Psuedo-Wyvern is because he has the ability to fly which Psuedo's don't). They're a class that are quite docile at times but will attack if threatened or provoked.During mating season Males bring kills to a female as gifts(bigger the prey higher chance of mating) and start a to dance to impress her by Flashing bright colours from their wings (by flushing blood into the veins located in them) ,and stomping the feet while spinning, and finally releasing a bellow or roar for emphasis on his health. The female's pregnancy will last for up to 8months and during that time she stays in the nest while the male hunts for food to feed her (because if any harm befalls the female the eggs could die within her body) after the eggs are layed both parents will take turns caring for the 2 large eggs and for hunting prey. And in all cases the pair's mate for life.

Drakes
Drakes are a class of dragon that despite lack of wings make up for it in speed, strength, agility and ferocity. They vary from sizes of medium to large but have been seen to be as small as a medium-size dog, and can be mostly recognised as giant lizards or "Komodo Dragons"(a giant species of Monitor Lizard). These dragons are the fastest land based dragon of their race, some are so fast that if spotted it's basically seen as a blur to the naked eye. As said in the first sentence they're seen as giant lizards, with few of them having both venomous jaws and claws, some carrying a mild hallucinogenic toxin to others having venom deadly enough to kill large Elder Dragons. As I said before their extremely agile able to leap, twist, turn and slink their way through any crevice and opening, mainly found in dense forests and desserts, but few species have been seen near coastal areas and even in the ocean and have been mistaken for Leviathan class dragons . These dragons are opportunistic hunters scavenging of the kills from other creatures to hunting for their own dinner, and like most of the dragon kin they are solitary with few species hunting in groups of 3-15 individuals and displaying characteristics to that of lions with complex social hierarchies and with the groups containing one large male and smaller but still powerful females ,whilst for those who hunt solo get the girl old fashioned way bribing them with food. Pregnancy last for about six months and within that time female's needs to "bulk up" in order for her to be in top shape for the task of protecting her eggs ,when the female lays her 13-27 eggs she buries them in dirt/leafy compost-like mounds for incubation monitoring the temperature of the nest like crocodiles do and when the eggs hatch they behave like "Komodo Dragons ", protecting the nest until the young are ready to hatch then leaving them to fend for themselves and possibly even display cannibalism towards them. Cruel I know ,but that's nature, picking off the weak for the strong to survive.
Wryms
These dragons are a group also known as "Serpents" because of their snake-like body appearance. They're mainly found off-shore in deep waters of the ocean but are known to be spotted in lakes, ponds, streams and in humid; moist area, such as rainforests. Most of these dragons (60%of them in fact) are highly venomous, and those that aren't kill their prey like Pythons and other constrictors by squeezing the life out of their prey, they're also a class that's size varies from large to medium with some no smaller than a Red-tailed Boa(a species of snake which grow around 1.8m to 2.4m) and with some specimens growing as big as a Naval ship. During mating season Males wrestle each other for dominance over a territory (especially if it's abundant in both prey and females) the victor mates with every female in the area and the loser tries to gain his luck somewhere else. During pregnancy females will have to endure a long 6months of waiting and when it's over she lays a clutch of 20-30 eggs/ giving birth to 15-35 live young (depending on the species) Wyrms lay their eggs/give birth in underground burrows, hidden caves(either underwater/on land), hollow logs and in leave/dirt mounds. After laying the eggs the female either protect the eggs(doing that she can't eat or drink until the eggs hatch) /young or either leave them to fend for themselves. And in very few cases mother's will eat their own offspring if they feel they're no fit to survive the world.

Lindwrum
Lindwrums are 2 legged dragons that tend to live in secluded isolated territories surrounding themselves with with different types of flora in most cases to both give and draw on the "magical" essence/life-force from said plants lives out a fairly solitary life style til mating season comes. As for their ability to fly is debatable but my theory is that they house a bladder that contains a type of Gas that allows for the ability to fly to amazing heights and the way they regulate it's flow through out it's body is with a set of veins and muscle tissue creating a Psuedo-heart helping to pump the gas through their body, which is created by ingesting certain foods and chemicals they derive from the "magical"essence absorbed from the plants that surround it in slumber, which was later found to be chlorophyll and glucose particles being absorbed through it's skin which was then mixed with it's the heat acquired from basking to warm up its body to give it the necessary energy for flying and when coupled with other factors gives it the ability to fly. Mating rituals of Lindwrums due to having a more solitary life style are only found in pairs during mating season and they court each other by both bringing food and magical essence rich flowers ,yes flowers to provide the female the energy she needs for the 6 month gestation period that which at the end she lays 2 eggs that become young Lindwrum (which the male takes no part of in raising )and feed of the essence from the flower's gifted to the female and once the infants are old enough and leave the nest the dragon then replenishes the essence she took with her own.

Amphiptere
These dragons are by far the rarest and most elusive dragon it's a small curiously shy dragon cute, and dainty at first glance but it is all in fact a deceptive act for under all that is a mischievous, energetic bundle of dynamite. As I said they're a small class of dragon mainly no bigger than a small stingray with the largest being as big as a Manta Ray/or even large freshwater ray (like the ones Jeremy Wade catches on "River Monsters"). They live in tropical rainforest in and around ponds and lakes, near the Coastal areas inside tide pools and small caves, and also reside in caves with large underground lakes/pools. These dragons attract females like frogs and fish do males with the brightest colours on their bodies and wings alongside loud croaking noises and chirps to attract potential mates towards them. When mating occurs it's exactly like how frogs mate, and after all 100 eggs are released and fertilized they're left in the safety of the pools of water and for the next 6months stay there until they hatch, but only 20% of the offspring will survive to adulthood if they're lucky, due to their small stature these dragons are easy pickings for larger predators like Drakes,Wryms and Leviathans(which I'll speak about next time ).
